NIATCM members were involved in a pilot study to integrate complementary medicine into the NHS. The pilot was funded by the NHS and coordinated by Get Well UK. The results were independently evaluated and showed benefits such as; 80% of patients reported an improvement in their symptoms, 64% took less time off work and 55% reduced their use of painkillers. The Northern Ireland Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a professional body providing self-regulation, training and support to practitioners of TCM in Northern Ireland.

Our Mission
Our mission is to promote the growth of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Northern Ireland and its integration into the healthcare system.

Our objective is to train and guide students in their quest to become skilled, caring practitioners of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine and Tui Na.

Our goal is that our practitioners are competent, confident and ethical healthcare professionals, skilled in their chosen therapy, who know their limitations and have the ability to deliver a safe and effective treatment.
